Natural Beauty
Cyclists looking to take in everything nature has to offer will enjoy the Groot Heideborgh Veluwe Star Route. The panoramic views of nature's splendor are combined with luxurious stays at Bilderberg Hotel Residence Groot Heideborgh, which is located in Garderen. The hotel is well known for its luxurious accommodations, and also has an excellent restaurant with a patio where you can dine while drinking in the stunning surroundings. The hotel's wellness center is equipped with a heated pool, a Turkish bath, fitness equipment, a sauna, and an indulgent tanning bed. The Bilderberg Hotel Residence Groot Heideborgh will serve as your home base for both legs of this tour. Because of its location in Veluwe forest's center, the hotel is the perfect place to start and end your daily journeys.

Day 1: Arrive in Garderen
There is free parking within the hotel in Garderen, which sits in one of the most unusual parts of Holland - the very center of Veluwe Forest. On your first day you'll have as much time as you want to bask in the natural wonders that surround you. It's definitely worth the time to visit the village of Garderen before setting off on your journey.

Day 2: Eastern Side of Veluwe Forest (46 km)
The first section of your adventure is 42 kilometers of natural splendor. The Houtdorperveld healthland, Staverden country estate, Hoog Soerense Bossen forest and Asselse Heide heaths are just some of the breathtaking sights you'll be able to drink in as you ride. You'll also ride through several villages, including Elspeet, Hoog Soeren, Kootwijkerveen and Nieuw Millegen. After circling around the eastern side of the Veluwe Forest, you'll arrive back at the Groot Heideborgh Hotel where you'll spend the night in comfort and style.

Day 3: Western Side of Veluwe Forest (40 km)
The second half of your trek through the Veluwe Forest takes you through the western half. You'll see nature's beauty at Boeschoten Country Estate, Appelse Heid and Voorthuizen. You'll also have an opportunity to check out Strand Nulde, a beautiful beach area that's filled with recreational activities. From there, you'll ride to Putten and then on to Sprielder Bos, which is one of the oldest forests in the Netherlands. Sprielder Bos is especially breathtaking because the mist makes the trees look as if they are dancing. Because of this phenomenon, the forest is referred to as "the forest of dancing trees." Your trip will also take you through Solse Gat Valley, which is believed by some to be haunted. According to local legend, some local nuns forged an alliance with witches during the Middle Ages. After that bond was created, their convent was supposedly sucked down into the mud.
Your journey ends back at the hotel in Garderen at the end of the day.

Day 4: Return Home (non-cycling day)
You've seen both the eastern and western halves of the Veluwe Forest, and now it's time to head home. Before you leave, you'll enjoy a memorable breakfast at the hotel.
