Exploring Veluwe Forest
This route is for bicyclists wanting to see and experience it all. Your days will be spent riding through some of the most beautiful scenery in the Netherlands, and your nights will be filled with rest and relaxation at the luxurious Residence Groot Heideborgh, which is located in Garderen. This Bilderberg Hotel is very well-known for providing complete comfort and culinary delights. The hotel's restaurant has a patio that's designed for opulent dining. You'll feel like a celebrity when you stop in at the wellness center. The hotel also has a heated pool, fitness center, tanning bed, sauna, and Turkish bath. The hotel sits right in the center of the Veluwe Forest, so it's the perfect place to start all of your daily tours. This hotel will serve as the base for four different circles that head in all four directions from Garderen so that you can explore the far reaches of Veluwe Forest.

Itinerary

Day One: Garderen
The hotel offers free parking and sits in one of the most unusual parts of Holland: the middle of the Veluwe Forest. On your first day you'll have as much time as you want to bask in the natural wonders that surround you. It's definitely worth the time to visit the town of Garderen before setting off on your journey. No reservations are required for this tour.

Sample hotel: Bilderberg Groot Heideborgh or Bilderberg Speulderbos

Day Two: Northern Veluwe (47 km)
You'll see purple heaths, massive forests, and picture-perfect locations all across the northern Veluwe route. All of the crossroads in the forest have been numbered. In order to stay on the tour, you must simply follow the numbers we will give you. As you ride, you'll see wonders like Leuvenum Forest, Ermelo's Heath, and Hulshorster Heath. You'll also go through the towns of Speuld, Leuvenum, Hierden, Ermelo, and Drie and make a stop at Harderwijk, and old fishing village. Your day will come to an end as you relax in the pool or sauna back at the hotel.

Day Three: Eastern Veluwe (42 km)
Your third day covers kilometers of natural beauty. The Houtdorperveld healthland, Staverden country estate, Hoog Soerense Bossen forest and Asselse Heide heaths are just some of the breathtaking sights you'll be able to drink in as you ride. You'll also ride through several villages, including Elspeet, Hoog Soeren, Kootwijkerveen and Nieuw Millegen. After circling around the eastern side of the Veluwe Forest, you'll arrive back at the Groot Heideborgh Hotel where you'll spend the night in comfort and style.

Day Four: Southern Veluwe (41 km)
Today you'll get a taste of just how untouched pure nature really is. Several heathlands fall along this route, including Wekeromse Zand, de Hoog Buurlose Heide, Garderense Veld, and Houtdorperveld. You'll also ride through several charming villages and the Radio Kootwijk, which many refer to as Veluwe Forest's cathedral. At the end of the day, you'll be back at the hotel Groot Heideborgh.

Day Five: Western Veluwe (38 km)
On the last day of your trip, your trek through the Veluwe Forest takes you through the western half. You'll see nature's beauty at Boeschoten Country Estate, Appelse Heid and Voorthuizen. You'll also have an opportunity to check out Strand Nulde, a beautiful beach area that's filled with recreational activities. From there, you'll ride to Putten and then on to Sprielder Bos, which is one of the oldest forests in the Netherlands. Sprielder Bos is especially breathtaking because the mist makes the trees look as if they are dancing. Because of this phenomenon, the forest is referred to as "the forest of dancing trees." Your trip will also take you through Solse Gat Valley, which is believed by some to be haunted. According to local legend, some local nuns forged an alliance with witches during the Middle Ages. After that bond was created, their convent was supposedly sucked down into the mud.
Your journey ends back at the hotel in Garderen at the end of the day.
